Monica Smit is Australia's first political prisoner. In 2021, she was arrested and spent 22 days in solitary confinement for 'crimes' including encouraging people to protest against Victoria state premier Dan Andrews's draconian lockdown/vaccine policies and refusing to take a PCR test.
