James Delingpole arguing for the motion in the IQ2 debate "Don't let the eco-warriors ruin your fun" at Wilderness Festival on 14th August 2011.
He argues that the focus on what's wrong with technology is based on personalities (eg. Jeremy Clarkson) rather than ideas. Ultimately, the varying approaches all strive for a cleaner world - thus we differ in our means, not ends. We have done more harm than good in saving the environment. Wind farms use up rare minerals that are mined immorally, they chop up flying animals, and destroy views. Biofuels could be used in the Third World. A cleaner environment and capitalism go hand in hand, but only if we don't impose artificial barriers.
